empowering inclusion through vision

An eyesight test can determine inclusion, access to information, and livelihood. With over 1 billion people worldwide grappling with untreated vision problems, accessible testing is imperative.

MAking the
world a better
place

In alignment with the UN’s “Vision for Everyone” initiative, OptikoPrime seeks to streamline vision testing through smartphones.

Through collaborations with NGOs, our goal is to expedite progress and innovation, harnessing the potential of science and technology to make a substantial impact on education and social well-being.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

We work to address the relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and strongly believe that making eyesight testing universally available will support many of SDGs. We are focusing on the following:

End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

While access to eyesight measurements and by extension access to correct corrective measures not in itself will solve SDG 1, it is a premise for reducing poverty. Thus, having access to eyesight testing is required to tackle target 1.1 eradicate extreme poverty; and 1.2 reduce the proportion of humans living in poverty.
Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Access to education is important for everybody. However, schooling and other educational efforts will likely fall short, if the recipients have very poor eyesight.

So, while OptikosPrime are not dealing with education per se, having access to proper eyesight supports in particular target 4.4 substantially increase the number of humans have relevant skills; and target 4.6 ensure substantial promotions of humans achieve literacy and numeracy.
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
Through our approach to working with the Global South, promoting eyesight testing as a local business opportunity we are partly addressing target 8.3 promoting development-oriented policies.

“An eye test can be the difference between inclusion and exclusion; A pair of prescription glasses, the difference between access to information and seeking a livelihood and not.”
