VisionCheck 2.0 is live
We have just launched VisionCheck 2.0. This is a major step forward, not just in how the product looks, but in how it works for users over time.
Until now, VisionCheck has been built for one thing: fast, accessible screening from a single phone photo. With 2.0, we are starting to build continuity.
From a one-time check to ongoing awareness
Users can now create an account and log in.
This unlocks a completely new layer of value:
- Access to previous measurements
- The ability to track how eyesight changes over time
- Storage of prescriptions from optician visits
Vision is not static. It changes gradually. Now users can actually follow that change.
Built with privacy and control in mind
We have also made it easier for users to stay in control of their data:
- Update contact details directly in the app
- Revoke GDPR consent without needing to contact support
- Manage and delete their own data
This is how it should work. Simple and transparent.
Expanding use beyond the individual
VisionCheck is no longer just for one user.
With profile support, users can now:
- Create profiles for family members or friends
- Store and manage multiple sets of measurements
This opens up new use cases in both households and screening environments.
Better input, better screening
Before each test, we now ask three simple questions:
- Do you have headaches often?
- Can you see clearly far away?
- Can you see nearby objects or text clearly?
These help provide better context around the result and strengthen the screening output.
Now validated for children
We now have early evidence that VisionCheck also works on children below 12.
In collaboration with clinical partners, we have tested the product in pediatric settings and observed that the approach holds, even in groups where traditional screening can be more challenging.
This is important. Children often struggle with standard vision tests. They compensate. They guess. Or they simply disengage.
VisionCheck does not rely on reading letters or subjective input. It directly screens for refractive error from a photo.
This opens up new possibilities for school screening, early detection, and large-scale outreach where speed and simplicity matter.
Accuracy in the real world
Screening only matters if it is reliable.
In real-world usage, VisionCheck is now delivering:
- High completion rates
- Strong alignment with clinical outcomes
- Consistent performance across environments
This is not a controlled lab setup. It is people using their own phones in real situations.
Accuracy at that level is what makes large-scale screening viable.
Without it, nothing scales.
A new look and feel
We have updated the full visual experience:
- New design system
- Updated fonts and colours
- Cleaner, more intuitive interface
The goal is simple. Make the experience feel as fast and effortless as the test itself.
What this means
VisionCheck started as a way to identify refractive error from a single phone photo.
Now it is becoming a tool users can return to. A way to stay aware. A way to act earlier.
And this is just the beginning.
